The first international academic conference on China and World Order organized by SIS was held from June 18 to 19, 2018 in RUC. It attracted nearly 30 scholars from universities and research institutes at home and abroad. The scholars engaged in deep and constructive discussions on three topics of Challenges to Liberal International Order, Great Power Relations and International Order and the Future of World Order.
The conference received much positive feedback from the attendees. Professor Jack A. Goldstone from George Mason University wrote to SIS after the conference: Everyone I spoke to afterwards agreed that it was an exceptionally valuable meeting. It is clear why you have such an outstanding reputation in social sciences. And professor Karl Eikenberry from Stanford, also the former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan wrote that the quality of the dialogue was the best I have seen in many years.
